This weekend workshop will explore the self evolving possibilities of drawing, breaking down the barrier of putting pencil to paper and opening up a world of dynamic responses to the object! Each student will be asked to bring in objects which are personal to them, and this will act as the starting point. From learning to make fast, brave, large scale drawings, to developing sustained mixed media pieces, this workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to remove the fear from drawing and enable themselves to create pieces that are full of life and meaning.
Tutor Dominic McIvor has studied at both Gray’s School of Art and the Royal Drawing School. Dominic has won several awards for his Drawings and Paintings and has a passion for teaching and enabling people to engage on a visual level with their environment.

Beginning by heading out into the surrounding environment of the studio, students will learn how to make research drawings that can be used as reference for painting. After lunch, these drawings will then be explored and developed into exciting mixed media paintings that evoke a sense of place, surface, mark and colour.
Tutor Robin Wu has studied at Central St Martins, Camberwell Collage of Art and the Royal Drawing School. Robin has a love of drawing directly from the surrounding landscape and cityscape and then uses these as reference points for semi-abstracted paintings.
