The Choreography of Drawing
Live Online Workshop
Saturday 10th April
10am - 1pm, £40
Course now finished - please see some images below from the workshop!
Paintbox are delighted to present a very special one of a kind, live zoom workshop in collaboration with Dancer and Choreographer Evie Frost live from her studio in Bath!
Working from a specially choreographed piece of contemporary dance, this workshop will begin by using freeze frame images as a stimulus for drawing, allowing participants to understand and engage with the poses. Evie will discuss the piece she has constructed and you will then be guided through a series of demonstrations, encouraged to respond to each pose. Evie will describe the pose, the feel, and construction to further inform your drawing and you will be encouraged find ways to create a sense of movement and “bring the dance” alive on the paper.
Freeze frames and music will be explored to conger atmospheric qualities and make large scale ink drawings. Towards the end of the workshop we will be treated to a live performance of the whole piece while you draw in real time to the movement!
We are very excited as this is a rare opportunity to work directly with Dancers in their studio and study the construction of a piece through the energy of drawing!
