Dominic McIvor is an Edinburgh based Artist and one of our Paintbox Tutors, currently teaching our Half Day Drawing & Painting Course and One-to-one Mentoring Sessions.  Dominic studied at Grays School of Art and makes work that explores thought provoking responses towards the everyday.

This two day workshop will offer  a window on to the world and work of 20C coveted Painter, Avigdor Arikha.

Working from studio set-ups, this course will guide you through working with oil paint, while considering the importance of making strong, striking compositions.

Participants will begin by making small scale, experimental studies, with the workshop progressing on to a second day to  working on a larger, more sustained pieces of work.

This workshops is aimed at those wishing to gain knowledge and understanding in working with oil paints, while also gaining greater insight into Arikha's approach to painting, through his unique use of colour, and compositional expertise.
