SARAH COLLES
Exploring what is hidden, submerged, obscured, emerging and obliterated is central to my work. The marks on an antique dish and Roman pottery fragments found in Syria were the starting point of the work for this exhibition. The hidden histories and meanings developed through constant change and erosion of marks , liberated from their lexical sense, allow for a range of responses to present themselves.
