This 4 day course will look to the abundance of the Summer Garden for its inspiration and will delve in depth into making ambitious, colour filled and lively mixed media paintings.
From gathering information in handmade sketchbooks, to working on a giant scale, you will truly surrender to the power of the flowers! We’ll look at collage, print and mediums, drawing into paintings and more. We will culminate in making a large scale mixed media painting on board so you can take the memory of the summer flowers with you. We will look at how to capture the essence of the flowers by responding to their colour, shape and movement and consider how to use a gestural approach. Colour will form an important part of our exploration into the floribunda we discover! Be ready to get out there, get messy, but most of all, be inspired by the beautiful energy and colour of the floral garden. |
