On this course we will be using mono-printing to explore the seasonal natural world in winter. An experimental and explorative approach to this exciting and highly accessible form of printmaking will be encouraged. On top of covering all the basics we will look at layering prints, using gelli plates, stencils, working back into prints and, as this form of printing does not require a press, you will also be armed with all the skills you need to start printmaking yourself at home. The garden in winter will be brought into the studio for you to work from in all it's glory - think lush branches of fir and lacy plant skeletons, winter flowers, pine cones & pumpkins, deep blue-green stems of cavolo nero, red berries on prickly stems, suspended tangles of ivy and lots more! |
