This course will be a creative and practical exploration of the many techniques and possibilities of the linocut printmaking process.

Over the course of 5 weeks, you will produce a small, very diverse body of work as you are given a step-by-step induction into several techniques, including reductive (or ‘kamikaze’!) lino printing and stamp carving.

You will also explore the potential for graphic design within linocut, with a section of the course being dedicated to printing text.

This course is suitable for those with some experience with linocut as well as those with none at all.

By the end of this course, you will have an in-depth understanding and confidence with this fantastic form of printmaking, as well as strengthened visual and conceptual layering skills. You will also have started to develop your own visual language specific to the unique qualities of lino printing
