Gail Cadogan
My current work celebrates and explores the vibrancy of music and dance. I work in direct response to the interaction of sound and movement. I explore the sharp and subdued tones, the assertive and more passive movements of the body and how they combine to create a complete piece.
I allow the quality of the materials and surface to dictate how my work can evolve. I use the interaction of form, line and strength of colour to introduce dynamics to my work.
The dance of the observers eye across the painting and the upbeat feeling and joy as a reaction is the primary purpose of this work.
