This  5 week course will  explore the large scale works of mid century Painter, Richard Diebenkorn.   From his Berkley aerial landscapes, to the suburban townscapes and on to his Ocean Park series, we will study the way in which he explored scale and abstraction throughout his career.

From gathering sketches on site, we will look firstly at how to cross the bridge into semi abstraction  and  then consider our use of materials, working in a variety of media from drawing to print and then into paint in both oil and acrylic.

While we consider colour, shape and space, we will continue to 'up the scale' and the course will culminate  in a large scale work on board.
