Cathy Wagstaff
This body of work explores the gentle light of the Scottish sky in the Spring, from evening light reflected in the river Tay, to the clouds and colours of the golden hour drifting across the valley. Light and space guide my work so that my paintings give you a sense of freedom and wide-open space.
Colour and its nuance are a vital part of my practice. I enjoy the subtle shift one can create in hue and tone when mixing, and this becomes a strong basis for the start of each work.
I hope to convey inner peace and the fresh feel of spring.
